I started this blog as a requirement for a class I took a year ago and after being inspired by a friend I thought that maybe I would start blogging for real. I don’t know if it will pan out or not, but it is worth a try right?
Mr. Singer’s Blog October 26, 2008
Okay I have to say that I love this blog. It is done by a high school special education science teacher. In order to find a way to engage students who don’t enjoy just worksheets he created this blog. They post projects and the students are the ones who help create the blog. He signs into a computer and the students get to do the hands on part of the blog. By being the only one with the log-in information there is also a control factor on making sure that only good appropriate information gets posted. Check it out! The site is on my blogroll or you can check it out by clicking here!
Watch What We Say October 18, 2008

Teaching to the test October 18, 2008
On the this week in education blog there was an interesting post where it was suggested that there be a standardized curriculum that would be set up to teach exactly what was on the tests. This seems like a good idea at first but the more that I think about it the more I think that it limits the teacher so much. Very thought provoking at least, check it out.
MP3 Players in the classroom October 18, 2008
I know that for me the technology that seems the more difficult to incorporate into the classroom are MP3 players. I found the techteachers network site that breaks it down into 23 different ways you can use MP3 Players. It was very interesting!

There are also a lot of different smart board activities. It is the perfect starting place for a teacher who wants great technology ideas but doesn’t know where to start!
RIF October 18, 2008
Reading Is Fundmental (RIF) has been around since I was in grade school. I was happy to see that they have a website filled with great games to play. Their version of concentration also says the word in both English and Spanish. I know I played for a long time so I think students would do the same thing

A Different Way to Look at Fractions October 18, 2008
The Math Goodies blog talks about different ways to use technology in the classroom. In this post the author was addresses the overall lack of understanding of fractions and decimals. This was very interesting to me because it is a concept that is being addressed in one of my math classes. Here is a great site that further inhances the way that we are learning to think of fractions in my Math for Elementary Educators class!
